Thermal
Drapes
Drapes are often in place to add color and d'cor to a room
in a home. They also offer privacy so that others can't see
what is going on behind them. Yet there is also another benefit
to some type of drapes. They are thermal
drapes and so they help to keep a home warm. This
is a very good idea if you have drafty windows yet not enough
money to replace them just yet.
Even if your home is well insulated you may discover that
thermal drapes provide you with a way to
save energy. Not only will you be doing your part to cut back
on wasting natural resources, you will save money. The amount
of money you save on heating costs will more than pay for your
thermal drapes in no time at all. Many
people only display thermal drapes during
the colder times of the year.
You do need to prepare your walls and curtain rods for the
weight of thermal drapes though. They are
much heavier than most regular types of drapes and you don't
want your curtain rods to bend and be pulled out of the wall
due to the additional weight. You can simply add wall anchors
though and even change your curtain rods for a very low price.
It shouldn't take you more than an hour to do all of this and
to hang the thermal curtains for any room
in your home.
Some people have the impression that hanging thermal
drapes in their home though will look like huge
blankets covering them. This isn't the case of it all as though
as you will soon see when you start looking and the many
designs out there. Thermal drapes often
look so much like regular ones that nobody will really be able
to tell the difference unless you tell them.
Thermal drapes often cost more than
other types of drapes though due to the
insulation they offer. However, this isn't going to be an
expense that is too extravagant for you to cover. It also is
going to be well worth it when you feel more comfortable in
your home while saving money on heating costs.
